Known for many years as the poor man's pig, the rabbit looks like it was designed for The Change Underground System. Quick to reproduce, converters of non-human food into high quality, low fat protein. Other outputs include manures, fur and angora wool.

These animals are kept primarily for their manures in The System. The meat, fur and angora are supplemental but can be significant income producers. Angora, in particular, offers much in this regard. At a raw wool price of $100 a kilo with the potential for value adding to increase this to $400 - $500 a kilo.

Value adding would include carding, spinning, felting, knitting and weaving. To value add you must have the necessary skills to transform the raw wool. These skills are learnable and do not eat into garden time.

There is also potential for stud breeding. Depending upon your location, this can be the primary or adjunct activity.
